Bonjour,
We started the holiday season with the extraordinary French Christmas Market that we all fell in love with, organised by the outstanding Brisbane French Festival committee.
This year was again a shining success, bringing the famous French food, wine, artists and artisans to kick start and get us in the festive mood.
Volunteering again for the event at West Village was an incredible experience supporting setting up and decorating the venue in the traditional blue, white and red, using many decor elements highlighting the unique world-leading French taste.
It is always exciting to see the transformation of a venue during an event like this one. You start with the inherited characteristics of the space/s, which in most cases, can’t be changed. But, by implementing creative thinking, following that magical instinct that takes on the lead whenever the chance is given, the outcome spoke for itself.
The number of families/couples and individuals posing at the specially created photo corners proves their successes. I hope you were one of these people! 🙂
Overhearing a family after they had their fill of what was on offer, they talked about how simple the recipe is to satisfy most of us. Well matured cheese, spread to personal taste on a crunchy baguette, washed down with wine or even a glass of champagne, can be enough. Subtle or even upbeat tones, friendly smiles of market goers, with the hint of traditional colours and decoration elements, like the Eiffel Tower, and that is it.
Yes, simplicity is golden!
Would you agree?
Spending two days in the merchandise tent created ample opportunities to meet many amazing people. It is fascinating to be involved in the market not only behind the scenes, getting it ready to welcome young and old, but facing the crowd, chatting to visitors and breathing in the intoxicating atmosphere.
I hope you were one of those visitors, shining your broad smile with sparkles in your eyes, who came and enjoyed this magnificent event.
If not, there will be another opportunity to immerse yourself in the delight of a French celebration next year.
Will I see you there?
Au revoir!
.
Hopefully, I am able to inspire you to take steps to enjoy life to the fullest.
